Susmit Nath

Born in the tiny little town of Silchar in the picturesque Barak Valley of southern Assam, Susmit pursued Diploma in Sound Recording and Engineering from Film and Television Institute of India (FTII). Inclined towards music, arts and films right from his childhood, Susmit took to learning fine arts and music from his school days but the urge to go in-depth in the field of sound recording, mixing and designing eventually led him to FTII. Over the last decade he has worked in critically acclaimed films like Cannes titles "THE FOURTH DIRECTION", "INVISIBLE DEMONS" and "ALL THAT BREATHES", Sundance titles "MACHINES" and "WRITING WITH FIRE", Toronto title "BULBUL CAN SING", Venice title "STOLEN" to name a few. Susmit's repertoire includes Oscar nominated documentary films "WRITING WITH FIRE" as a Supervising Sound Editor/Sound Designer and "ALL THAT BREATHES" as a Senior Sound Design Consultant. He is a believer in a continuous pursuance striving to achieve "Zen" in the art of Sound Design and Mixing.
