His gentleness and his interest in things spiritual in real life are sharply at odds with his on-screen persona. He is perhaps most widely-known for starring and portraying, Hakop, in an independent dramatic film "Aram, Aram" that premiered at Los Angeles Film Festival in June 2015. "Aram, Aram" won Best Film Award at St. Louis International Film Festival and Audience Choice Award at Pomegranate Film Festival. Hakoyan's performance was praised by The Hollywood Reporter.
