A. Monopolis was born in Corfu island of Greece. He is a composer, sound artist, maker and multidisciplinary creative practitioner whose work moves between experimental music, audiovisual production, sound technology, physical construction and film-related practices.
He has collaborated with the Department of Music of the Ionian University and has been active in the field of electroacoustic and experimental music for many years. Alongside his artistic practice, he has worked as an event producer, production manager, video maker and sound engineer, coordinating festivals, concerts and multidisciplinary productions through his own production company. He is also the founder of O.S.C.S. NCO.
Since 2010, through his personal workshop and brand **MoCM (Monopolis Custom Made), he has been designing and constructing prototypes, custom-made sound devices, electronic instruments, mechanical objects and specialised structures. His practice combines electronics, mechanics, fabrication and unconventional materials, often resulting in unique functional or sculptural objects.
His hands-on experience in construction has increasingly extended into **film and audiovisual production, particularly set construction, props, practical objects and custom-made elements for visual environments**. He approaches props and set elements not simply as decorative objects, but as functional, physical and believable parts of a constructed world, combining practical engineering with artistic intuition.
His artistic impulse is therefore expressed not only through sound and music, but also through **images, materials, objects, mechanisms and physical spaces**. His work is characterised by a strong DIY approach, experimentation and the transformation of raw materials and technical components into functional or expressive objects.
