Anjali is an Indian-Canadian director, former climate scientist and tech founder.

Anjali's newest film, a Netflix Original called "Hack Your Health: The Secrets of Your Gut" about gut health and the science of eating with Academy Award-winning Tremolo Productions, is streaming on Netflix, and her fantasy short "Closer" has over 5 million views and won the 2022 Prism Prize Audience Award (Canada's top music video awards). As of 2024, she is developing a slew of scripted projects and a series with the Golden State Warriors. Her prior films have been supported by Cinereach, Sundance, and Tribeca, won countless awards, jury prizes, gone theatrical, and been acquired by Netflix and Amazon.

In the commercial world, Anjali has directed for brands such as Chipotle, Amazon, Southern Company, ACER computers, Patagonia, Goldman Sachs, Mountain Equipment Co-Op and the San Diego Zoo.

Anjali sits on the advisory of the Environment and Human Rights Division of Human Rights Watch and she is an associate professor at Cornell. She has a Masters from Columbia's Graduate School of Journalism, a Masters in Climate Change and Environmental Management from Oxford and a Graduate degree from the International Space University.

Anjali recently wrapped her three scripted features Behind Closed Doors (2026), The Couple Next Door (2026), and Family Through The Flames (2026), and is in post-production on a Nike film about one of the top soccer players of all time. She's also in development on a series with the Golden State Warriors.

Anjali’s last documentary, Hack Your Health (2024), about the microbiome and gut health with Academy Award-winning Tremolo Productions, received 4 Emmy nominations in 2025 (won one), reached the top spot on Netflix in 10 countries, and was in the top 10 Netflix films in 77 countries around the world.

Anjali's fantasy short Closer (2022) has nearly 6 million views and won the 2022 Prism Prize Audience Award. Anjali’s prior films have been supported by Cinereach, Sundance, and Tribeca, won countless awards, jury prizes, gone theatrical, and been acquired by Netflix and Amazon.

Anjali was part of the 2024/2025 Warner Brothers Director Discovery Program and is a member of the Directors Guild of Canada, the Directors Guild of America, the Writers Guild of Canada and the Canadian Academy.

Before film, Anjali was a scientist and national-level soccer player. She earned a master’s in climate change from the University of Oxford and a graduate degree in space science from the International Space University. She also holds an MS in documentary journalism from Columbia University and worked as a foreign correspondent for Reuters based in East Africa for a decade.
