Kai Alexander

Biography

Kai Alexander

Overview

  • Born
    June 7 · Worcester

Mini bio

  • Born and raised in the Midlands, Kai first gained recognition playing American WWII radio operator Sgt. William Quinn in the Emmy-nominated Apple TV miniseries Masters of the Air (2024), from Steven Spielberg, Tom Hanks and Gary Goetzman. Performing his own stunts, he parachutes into enemy territory to evade capture, haunted by the death of a friend he couldn't save, in a role Esquire named his "big break." He followed this, swapping accents again with a "spellbinding" turn as the unhinged and tormented Scottish teenager Lyle Jennings in Scott Frank's Dept. Q (2025) for Netflix. Next, he moves into comedy and is set to appear in Anxious People (2026) alongside Angelina Jolie and Jason Segel, directed by Marc Forster. Initially modelling as a child, he appeared in a Honey Monster TV commercial directed by Garth Jennings. At sixteen, he moved to London after earning a spot to train at ArtsEd. Also a musician from a young age, Kai played piano from age four and later played drums in youth jazz orchestras. He began his career with roles in the award-winning series Catastrophe (2015) and the Harlan Coben thriller The Stranger (2020), followed by a notable cameo as Richard Branson in Danny Boyle's Pistol (2022).
