Biography

Lincoln Péricles (also known as LK) is a director and screenwriter from Capão Redondo, a working-class neighborhood on the outskirts of São Paulo, Brazil.

Co-founder of Astúcia Filmes and the Cinemateca da Quebrada, he develops works marked by a strong authorial vision and an original voice that moves across fiction, documentary, video art, and archival cinema.

Beyond filmmaking, his video art works have been exhibited at major contemporary art events such as the Rencontres d’Arles, considered the world’s largest photography festival, and Jimei x Arles.

His work has been the subject of national and international retrospectives and has screened at festivals including Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival, FIDMarseille, Doclisboa, FICValdivia, and Festival de Cannes.

In 2025, he undertook an artistic residency in France through Atelier Médicis, and in 2026 he was selected for a residency at the Cité Internationale des Arts in Paris, where he is developing a new project with support from the Centre Pompidou.

He was also selected for the BRAVO lab in Los Angeles, strengthening his involvement in international audiovisual development networks. He is a recipient of the William Greaves Fund and the Hubert Bals Fund.

In recent years, he has led masterclasses and educational activities in countries such as Uganda, Kenya, and Mexico, as well as at institutions including San Diego State University, Paris 8 University, and Sorbonne University. For more than a decade, he has developed international projects and co-productions with partners from Mexico, Kenya, France, Portugal, and the United States.

His artistic research investigates memory, periphery, archives, music, and formal experimentation, building a cinema radically connected to popular lived experiences and contemporary social transformations.
