P. R. Monencillo Patindol is a filmmaker based in Leyte, Philippines. His short film, Hilom (Still) was awarded the Youth Jury Prize at 27th Singapore Int’l Film Festival, Best Short Feature at the 13th Cinemalaya Film Festival, and Best Short Film by the Filipino Academy for Movie Arts & Sciences in 2018. He won the Fellowship Prize at the Singapore Int’l Film Festival’s Southeast Asian Film Lab in 2021 for Rafael, a feature film in development. His short film, Abogbaybay (Shoredust) won the NETPAC Award at the 20th Cinemalaya Film Festival, competed in the Busan Int’l Film Festival, earned four awards at the Nabunturan Independent Film Exhibition 2025, including Best Film and Best Director, and won Best Philippine Short at the Ngilngig Asian Fantastic Film Festival. His debut feature, i grew an inch when my father died, had its world premiere in the Bright Future Programme of the International Film Festival Rotterdam 2026 and won the NETPAC Award.
