Letticia Bissondut is an Indian South African actress + photographer. Her career as an actress has taken flight after being noticed by award-winning director, Tatia Pilvea. Her work includes several films and series, including "Undress Me" by Tatia Pilivea, Golden Lion winner at the prestigious Venice Film Festival. The short film was made for Show Times "Masters of Sex" and has garnered forty-nine million views and went viral within minutes of being released. With an ambition to share her work with others, Letticia has also starred in the compelling hit TV series, Shameless. With the premiere of the ninth season on September 9, 2018, Shameless became the longest-running original scripted series in Showtime's history.
As well as acting Letticia spends a considerable amount of time doing humanitarian work, something that was always a part of her upbringing. A regular at LA's children's hospital, where she volunteers through Art of Elysium using the arts as a tool for healing. She also has spent a fair amount of time volunteering at Skid Row + Watts Housing Projects sharing information about free school, health, and teaching acting + photography to kids through various programs.
She follows her philanthropic endeavours, as well as her photography adventures doing meaningful work through organisations such Foster America, where she has taught children photography. She has travelled all over the world working with various non-profits including UNICEF USA, mainly working with organizations that work with children and empowering communities through education, the arts, and business.
In 2020 she started an initiative called Light of the World, where she created an eco-friendly care package aimed at the female homeless communities. She is working on creating a program that aims to teach storytelling through photography, to children all over the world. Something she started while volunteering in a few villages in Malawi in 2018. Through her work, Letticia is deliberate in marrying skills development, assisting with basic needs, and using the arts as a vessel to enrich everyone she comes in contact with. In her photography work, Letticia tells stories of equality and portrays a different narrative about Africa and its people, than we have been used to seeing. Her greatest goal is to show the strength, adaptability, and joy of Africa.
Fully immersing herself in the film industry, Letticia's commitment and dedication to showcasing South African talent using her acting shines through. As part of a growing collective of incredibly talented African actors and actresses, Letticia is playing a key role in breaking barriers for other actresses who are working in Hollywood. The short film directed by Chris Levitus has created a stir after taking home a win at the Dance of Cinema Film Festival and was selected for the acclaimed Hollyshorts Film Festival.
