JOSEPH WOOD III is an Atlanta native, graduate of Paul McCartney’s Liverpool Institute for the Performing Arts (L.I.P.A.) in Liverpool, England, Tri-Cities Visual and Performing Arts Magnet High School in East Point, Georgia, and 2013 National YoungArts Winner in theatre, chosen alongside Oscar-nominee Timothée Chalamet.
His film and television credits include Hallmark Channel’s "The Watsons Go To Birmingham" (directed by Tony Award winner Kenny Leon), B.E.T.’s "Boomerang"(produced by Halle Berry & Lena Waithe), H.B.O.’s "A YoungArts Masterclass" (taught by Anna Deavere Smith), and he recently wrapped his first leading role in a feature film called "Crash Out", now playing on Amazon Prime.
Joseph’s commercial, industrial, and voiceover credits include U.P.S., Ford, Samsung, Sanderson Farms, Stella Artois, The Home Depot, Equifax, Norfolk Southern, VitaminWater, TopGolf, T.J.X., Georgia’s Own Credit Union, A.T.C. Income Tax, and Walmart.
Joseph Wood III is a teaching artist for Kenny Leon’s True Colors Theatre Company’s "Next Narrative Monologue Competition". He previously taught acting workshops at The Woodward Academy, Southwest Arts Center, Tri-Cities High School, New Manchester High School, Utopian Academy for the Arts, in Georgia, and has shadowed Columbia University’s master’s acting professor, Peter Jay Fernandez, in New York.
