Born in the small town of Durgapur, India and raised in sunny Brisbane, Australia, Samudranil or 'Sam' is a Los Angeles based Cinematographer.
Samudranil is a graduate of the Master's program in Cinematography from the American Film Institute (AFI). Samudranil's narrative work has been awarded at many top ranking international film festivals around the world, most notably at SXSW, Slamdance, Clermont Ferrand, Palm Springs, Flickerfest, etc. He has also shot projects for Netflix, Amazon Prime and multiple international broadcast television and other reputable online distribution and OTT services. Samudranil has also received multiple A.C.S (Australian Cinematographer's Society) awards for both his narrative and commercial work.
Samudranil has an empathetic eye towards capturing raw performances and is an advocate of strong visual language that can support the story and performances of a film.
He speaks English, Bengali and Hindi proudly.
