Stepping to the forefront of the indie film industry, former professional basketball player, filmmaker, and prolific screenwriter Kevin "KL" Martin has spent the last decade building a reputation for sharp dialogue, genre-bending stories, and a crystal-clear visual voice. His work often blends dark comedy, social commentary, slapstick, and emotionally resonant storytelling-all rooted in authentic human experience.

KL is best known for the web series Wankbank: The Series, the short films Loose Ends, The Chair & The Red Room, and most recently You Should Smile More, which premiered at the California Women's Film Festival and serves as a proof of concept for his supernatural slasher feature Jane Doe, currently in development.

As the founder and creative director of Kevinlmartin.com Productions, now based in Las Vegas, he specializes in helping filmmakers produce proof-of-concept short films as a bridge to feature filmmaking. He also writes and directs original projects through his company, including The Rise and Fall of the Pixels-a raunchy, heartfelt road-trip dramedy set in Nevada-and Craftlace, a queer-coded thriller

His extensive travels, multilingual fluency, and past careers-including freelance photography, logistics leadership, and public service as a councilman-have shaped a worldview that informs every frame and every page.
