Krishand R. K. is an Indian film director, screenwriter, cinematographer and producer. He predominantly works in the Malayalam cinema. He was raised in Trivandrum, Kerala and completed Bachelor's of Technology from Mohandas College of Engineering and Technology.
Later, he earned his Master of Design degree from IDC School of Design IIT Bombay. The versatile artist then went on to begin his career as a screenwriter in the short film named Flames in 2012. This was followed by scripting and directing short films like Mombattiyan and Bhagavthikaavile Paapikal.
Krishand directed web series Utsaha Ithihasam in 2018, which received a nomination in the Seoul Webfest besides winning the best Dramedy Award. In the same year, he made his feature film debut by directing Vrithakrithyilulla Chathuram in Malayalam film industry.
Later, he directed his second film Aavasavtuham. His third film 'Purushapretham - The Male Corpse' was released in 2023 on Sony Liv, earning tremendous response and critical acclaim. Krishand's short film Sinners at the Goddess Abode was screened at Cannes SFC, Noida International Film Festival and Signs Film Festival.
The maverick artist has received decent recognition for his artistic brilliance and versatility. He has won a National Film Award and two Kerala State Film Awards besides the Padmarajan Award for his film Aavasavyuham.
Krishand has taken big strides by enhancing his credentials through a robust project portfolio and unending zeal. He intends to keep churning impressive projects to leave an unperturbed mark across the film industry.
