- Miguel Araujo began his professional journey in advertising in South Africa, initially drawn to the social aspects of the field. However, he soon found himself yearning for a more creative outlet to express his passion for artistic storytelling. Fueled by this desire, he boldly decided to cross the Atlantic and pursue his dreams in North America.
His exceptional skills in supervising sound editing, ADR mixing, and re-recording mixing have earned him recognition within the industry. Notably, Miguel received an Emmy nomination for his work on "Scaredy Cats," a Cinema Audio Society nomination for contributions to "Lovecraft Country," and a Golden Reel nomination for "The 100." He boasts two Leo Award wins for "Legend Quest: Masters of Myth" and "Scaredy Cats," along with 8 additional Leo Award nominations. He was also part of the game sound team that won an NYX award for their work on "Godfall."
Miguel serves as secretary to the board of the Motion Picture Sound Editors. He is a member of the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, actively participating in sound and sound editing peer groups. Additionally, he is a member of the Cinema Audio Society and the Vancouver Post Alliance, where he served on the board.
