Biography

Anneke Sluiters grew up in a small village in the south of the Netherlands. She is a Dutch actress known for her versatility across stage, film, and television. She won the Best Actress Award at Screamfest Los Angeles in 2024 for her haunting performance in Heresy (Witte Wieven), a role that established her as a distinctive talent.

Her screen credits include collaborations with Oscar-winning director Mike van Diem (Tulipani, TIFF 2017), Urszula Antoniak (Splendid Isolation, IFFR 2022), and Stef Lernous (Hotel Poseidon). On television, she is best known as Detective Carolien Verbeek in the acclaimed series Flikken Rotterdam, alongside roles in Arcadia, Rundfunk, Van der Valk, and Dag & Nacht.

Beginning her career in theatre, Anneke has performed with major companies in the Netherlands and Belgium, while also creating her own original works. She was awarded the Best of ITs On Tour Award in 2012 for her graduation solo Don't Get Me Wrong at HKU.

Anneke is known for her bold and authentic artistic signature and is often creatively involved in the development of her projects. In 2026, she will star alongside Emmanuel Ohene Boafo in Peter Krüger's international release, The Age of Magic.
