- Brandon Crowson is a Minneapolis based independent filmmaker. He attended film school in Minneapolis, specializing in screenwriting. While attending college he took it upon himself to learn as much as he could about special effects, becoming highly skilled in Adobe After Effects. He graduated in 2012 after winning the MCTC Production Excellence Award for his original screenplay Poorman. His production company, Son Of A Crow Productions serviced businesses in the Twin Cities with creative services for years after his graduation.
In 2015 Brandon used IndieGoGo to crowdfund $21k in a month, to make his 1st feature length film. The film, documentary about the life and death of underground rapper Micheal "Eyedea" Larsen, titled "The World Has No Eyedea" was completed in 2016. Brandon recorded, directed, produced, edited, and marketed the film entirely while working closely with Kathy Averill, Eyedea's mother. In 2016 Brandon led efforts to market and organize the film's limited theatrical release by four-walling theatrical screenings across the world. The film sold out art-house theaters across the U.S. & Canada many times over before also selling out art-house theaters in Europe and Africa. The film released on DVD, Prime, and Vimeo in 2017.
Brandon's 2nd film, a politically charged action-comedy "The Diabolical Schemes of Thadeus Jackson" was produced out of a profit sharing arrangement organized between Son Of A Crow Productions & various other artists and organizations local to the Twin Cities area. During it's film festival run it won 9 awards in three countries including six variations of "Best Visual Effects" Awards. The film was shot in the summer of 2018, edited and captioned in 72 languages by Mr. Crowson, and released in the summer of 2021 to streaming platforms and cable channels across the globe.
Currently Mr. Crowson is actively pursuing investors for his two film production slate of original screenplays. Including his award winning horror/comedy screenplay, "Vampire's Aren't Real". "Vampire's Aren't Real"'s accolades include Capital Fund Screenplay Competition's: Hot 100 in 2023, winner of one of Stage 32's Open Writing Assignments searching for a horror/comedy in October of 2023, and winner of The Golden State Film Festival's Best Horror/Comedy Screenplay Award in March of 2024.

- When you make a documentary, you want to have a statement. Every single documentary has a statement at its core: 'Supersize Me' is about how McDonald's is bad for you. 'An Inconvenient Truth' is about how global warming is going to kill you. 'The World has No Eyedea' is about how Michael Larsen was a genius. Period.
- Film's literally all art forms combined into one. Like, if you love music, or you love photography, or you love composition, wordplay, etcetera, it's all encompassed through film. It seems like the best medium to tell stories, especially today. I find that people have the attention spans of gnats, so if you're really going to try to grab someone's attention, doing it with audio and visual at the same time is the best way to go.
