  • Gábor Szilágyi is a Budapest-based Hungarian cinematographer working across feature films, shorts, series, commercials and music driven visual projects.

    During his studies, he was one of the cinematographers on It’s not the time of my life (2016), directed by Szabolcs Hajdu. The film won the Crystal Globe at the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival in 2016.

    His debut feature as director of photography Not a Thing (2022) received multiple international awards for cinematography, including Best Cinematography at the Florence Indie Film Festival, Toronto Film & Script Awards and Melbourne Independent Film Festival, as well as the HCA Award at the Vilmos Zsigmond International Film Festival.

    Recent work includes Something Wild (2025), winner of the Best Short Film Award at both Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival (PÖFF) and Friss Hús International Film Festival, and Mayflies (2025), which premiered at the Cottbus Film Festival.

    As a camera operator and second unit director of photography, he has worked on a number of international productions. Working on these projects expanded his experience with large-scale productions and advanced camera systems. Experienced gear head and remote head operator such as U-Crane and Technocrane or any kind of remote head system.

    Since 2025 he is a selected member of the Hungarian Cinematographers Association.
