- Carolyn Bridget Kennedy is an award-winning actor, voice actor, filmmaker, and writer based in Los Angeles. She appears in Netflix's Emmy-nominated series The Umbrella Academy opposite Elliot Page, directed by Jeremy Webb, and recently booked a role in an upcoming Amazon MGM series.
In ABC/Hulu's How to Die Alone, directed by Tiffany Johnson, Carolyn improvised lines on set that became part of the final episode. She also starred in the multi-camera sitcom pilot Ambulance Chasers, filmed before a live studio audience, working with Emmy-winning director Robert Schiller (The King of Queens) and Emmy-winning writer Jay Kogen (The Simpsons, Frasier, Malcolm in the Middle).
An improv maven, Carolyn completed the "trinity" of Los Angeles improv training: The Second City Conservatory, Upright Citizens Brigade (UCB), and The Groundlings Advanced Improv and Writing Lab, where she continues to train. She has also studied with Larry Moss, Jason Alexander, Howard Deutch, Jean-Louis Rodrigue, Kristof Konrad, Bruce Eckstut, Denise Woods, and Sharon Chatten.
A sought-after performer for emerging filmmakers, Carolyn has been cast in numerous projects produced by some of the world's top film schools, including the American Film Institute (AFI), UCLA, USC, CalArts, and Loyola Marymount University.
As a voice actor, Carolyn brings a bright, relatable, comedy-forward sound with exceptional range. Drawing on years of improvisation, she performs everything from young children and angsty teens to moms, seniors, villains, and creatures. Her background as a personal injury paralegal allows her to navigate legal and medical terminology with ease, making her particularly effective for commercial, corporate, and educational narration. Her voiceover credits include national network campaigns, and she starred as Margaret in the SAG-AFTRA Radio Play Father Knows Best at The Autry Theater in Los Angeles.
Carolyn is also an accomplished writer and filmmaker. Her half-hour comedy pilot placed as a Quarterfinalist at the Oscar®-qualifying HollyShorts Film Festival and the CineStory Foundation TV Retreat & Fellowship Competition. As a producer and director, her work has earned more than 150 film festival laurels worldwide, including awards and nominations for Best Lead Actress, Best Comedy, Best Picture, Best Original Story, Best Screenwriter, and Best Director.
A member of the Television Academy, SAG-AFTRA, ACTRA, Women in Film LA, Film Independent, Raindance Los Angeles, and the Academy of Canadian Cinema & Television, Carolyn was selected for both the Television Academy's Performers Peer Circle and Women in Film LA's year-long Mentorship Program as an actor and content creator.
