Biography

Chris Kohls

Biography

  • Chris originally came to LA to work behind the camera, but Chris' friends encouraged him to start acting. They believed that his ability to reproduce accents perfectly, his commercial look, and his captivating charisma would book him countless jobs. He reluctantly agreed. He began taking classes at the Ivana Chubbuck studio and started auditioning for parts.

The first role Chris was called to audition for was for the lead in a graduate student's film project at USC. He got the part! This was a pretty significant moment. He got the first role he ever went out for. That said, he thought it might have been a fluke.

The second role Chris landed was another lead in another student film. It was a period piece produced by students at UCSB for their annual Reel Loud Film Festival. Attending the festival, Chris was worried that the film wouldn't do well against the rather steep competition. The other films were almost all comedies, and the project he was in was very serious. There was no "best actor" category, so the best they could do was "The Golden Reel," the award for best picture. They couldn't possible win it unless Chris had done his job well as he was in almost every shot. He had done his job well. They won.

This experience and a few other successes, early on, drove Chris to see acting as a practical career for him.

Chris currently lives and works in LA as an actor and writer.
