David Cruz is an international Film Director and Cinematographer whose vibrant, high-concept visual style is forged at the intersection of diverse cultures. Born in Bogotá and based in Los Angeles, Cruz’s global perspective has been shaped by immersive creative chapters spanning England, Colombia, Germany, Cuba, and the United States. This multicultural foundation infuses his work with a rare blend of deep psychological depth, technical precision, and sharp cultural sensitivity.

Cruz formalized his craft at world-renowned institutions, earning a degree in Communication Design from the University of Los Andes before honing his cinematic voice at the prestigious Escuela Internacional de Cine y Televisión (EICTV) in Cuba and ENACC in Colombia. He established a powerful professional foundation in the South American television landscape, working as a vital part of the Directing department for the prominent Colombian national broadcaster "RCN TV". Consistently driven to craft original narratives, he also co-founded Diip Studio, where he wrote and directed the award-winning animated short "El Sueño de Dante". Exploring complex gender dynamics in Latin America, the film captured international acclaim and was acquired for broadcast by networks like INCAA TV.

Equally adept at commanding fast-paced studio floors and framing intimate indie narratives, Cruz’s versatile eye led him to serve as the Official Photographer and Content Creator for the hit broadcast network series "Noches con Platanito" on Estrella TV in California.

Today, Cruz operates at the forefront of the independent film scene in Los Angeles as a core creative force behind CML Productions and the production studio The Wanted Mind.
