Short Biography: International Film Music Composer, Orchestrator and Sound Designer, Andreu Jacob is a Barcelona-born composer based in Norway. His work spans feature films, documentaries, animation and interdisciplinary art projects, combining acoustic instrumentation, contemporary orchestral writing, electronic sound design and field recordings.

Jacob’s music has been featured at major international film festivals, including the Cannes Film Festival (70th and 71st editions), as well as festivals such as the Rome International Movie Awards, Manhattan Film Festival, and the Arctic Open International Film Festival. His film soundtracks have been presented in numerous international screenings across Europe, North America and beyond.

Alongside his work as a composer, Jacob has served as a jury member at several international film festivals, including the Peterhof Film Festival (Saint Petersburg), TNISSFF - The Norwegian International Seagull Film Festival, and the Curta Neblina Latin American Film Festival (São Paulo).

He has collaborated with international production companies including Integral Film AS (Norway), CPPB Inter-tainment (Canada) and Epic Lands Production (Russia), with projects supported by institutions such as the Norwegian Film Institute. Andreu Jacob is an internationally awarded film composer, orchestrator and sound designer working across feature films, documentaries, animation and interdisciplinary art.

Jacob’s sonic language blends acoustic instrumentation, chamber music and orchestral writing, Nordic tonal aesthetics and Mediterranean influences, field recordings and contemporary electronic sound design. He has contributed to over 100 award-winning productions, collaborating with filmmakers and studios across Europe, North America, South America and Asia.

During the pre-production of More Than a Museum, legendary composer Ennio Morricone personally recommended Jacob to director Morrosko Vila-San-Juan a rare and distinguished recognition within the international film music community.

He has served as a jury member at international film festivals including the Peterhof Film Festival (Russia), TNISSFF - The Norwegian International Seagull Film Festival, and Curta Neblina Film Festival (Brazil).

In 2026, he opened a new chapter in his career, becoming Director of Scoring at the Luna Lumen Film Festival (USA).

Based in southern Norway and working internationally, Jacob continues to develop projects where sound functions as narrative and music shapes the emotional architecture of the moving image.
