Péter Vácz is an award-winning animation director from Budapest, Hungary. He graduated from MOME - Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design in 2013 with his short film Rabbit and Deer, which has won over 125 festival awards in more than 60 countries.
Since then, Péter has directed two acclaimed stop-mo music videos for the British rock band James (All I'm Saying, 2014, and Dear John, 2016), as well as the live-action short film Pillowface (2018) and several animated poem adaptations (Streamschool, Satellite Dish, and Strawberry). His latest animated short, Dog Ear, continues his personal and innovative storytelling.
Beyond his filmmaking, Péter is a passionate teacher, leading workshops and masterclasses worldwide. Since 2020, he has served as the artistic director of the Illyés Animation Academy, a two-year Hungarian animation course. In 2023, he became the president and founding member of the Hungarian Society of Animation Artists - AA1, advocating for the growth of the industry.
