Discovered MMA at the age of 18 and turned out to be a natural. He fought his way up and joined Golden Glory. After a career as a professional MMA fighter and winning the Dutch WFCA Heavyweight title in 2011, the World WFCA Heavyweight title in 2012 and the Croatian FFC World Championship in 2014 and 2015, Staring returned to the Netherlands and became a trainer under Mike Passenier.
