Biography

Gwenael François is a French director and producer, co-founder of Skill Lab in Luxembourg. He directed film shorts and story driven music videos that blends creativity and technology. He directed several music videos including the highly acclaimed Equality Song for Francis of Delirium where he shares his vision of gender inequality. Several immersive works are co-produced by Skill Lab with international studios, such as "Nana Lou" (Annecy official Selection 2024) a poetic work that deals sensitively with the subject of the end of life with Small Creative in France. Always attracted by new technologies, he developed several virtual reality projects. He directed in 2023 « Errances » a meditative VR journey with the collaboration of electronic music artist Ryvage (Fivars 2023, SIGGRAPH 2023). He wrote and directed Oto's Planet, an interactive animated short film that won awards in major festivals (Annecy official Selection 2024, Special Jury Price Venice Immersive 2024, Kaohsiung International Film Festival selection 2024, Best Immersive Geneva International Film Festival 2024). He's now developing a new XR experience "Tachychronia" that deals with the perception of time and the search for a first love. Collaborating all over the world, he develops his creativity through innovation.
