Tilemahos Lepeniotis(1877-1945)

Tilemachos Lepeniotis was a Greek comic stage actor whose career spanned the early development of modern Greek theatre, earning recognition for his strong presence in both ensemble and leading roles. He began performing at a young age in amateur productions in Corfu, where his natural talent for mimicry and comedy quickly stood out, leading to his early involvement in major roles and even responsibility in selecting repertoire for a local dramatic society. His growing reputation brought him to Athens, where he joined Konstantinos Christomanos' Nea Skini, eventually securing a leading role that established him with Athenian audiences as a key comedic performer. Following the dissolution of Nea Skini, he continued his career with various theatrical companies, including his own, and later became part of the Royal Theatre, where he appeared in a wide range of productions and further solidified his standing within the theatrical community. His work extended briefly into early Greek cinema with a leading role in the film Iroas, reflecting the period's transition from stage to screen. Beyond performance, he was also active in the professional organization of actors, serving for many years as president of the Greek Actors' Association, contributing to the development and representation of the profession.
