Biography

Adam Sjoberg

Biography

  • Adam is an award-winning director and producer with a passion for telling global, multicultural stories that bridge the gab between popular culture and pressing global issues. He has collaborated with top talent like Nasir "Nas" Jones, Troy Polamalu, Kanye West and Bono.

His first film, "Shake the Dust," Executive Produced by rap superstar Nas, documents the lives and skills of break-dancing street kids from Yemen, Colombia, Uganda, and Cambodia. His second feature, "I Am Sun Mu," an indie festival favorite, premiered in the "no-man's-land" between North and South Korea. It follows a North Korean dissident-turned-artist as he prepares for a high-stakes exhibition in China under the scrutiny of Chinese and North Korean governments. In 2021, Adam made his dramatic feature debut with "The Falconer," a true story and the first feature shot entirely in Oman. It follows two best friends who steal animals from a zoo to raise money to save their sister and friend from an abusive marriage. The film won over a dozen awards, including two for Best Direction.

Adam's commercial work has taken him to dozens of countries, with clients like Mini Cooper, Warby Parker, Comcast, (RED), Guidehouse, and Spotify. He has created artful brand-sponsored documentaries like "STUDIOSWINE" for Mini Cooper and "Monster" about 21 Savage for Spotify and RapCaviar. In 2021, he co-wrote, co-produced, and was lead editor for the global podcast hit "The Messenger," produced by Awfully Nice in collaboration with J. Cole's Dreamville Studios.

His fourth feature, "Sons of Paradise," about Pro Football Hall-of-Famer Troy Polamalu and American Samoa, includes exclusive footage of Troy's Samoan heritage and rise to fame. He has partnered with LeBron James' The SpringHill Company to produce and sell the project.

Adam is based in Lisbon, Portugal, where he is developing a diverse slate of scripted and unscripted films and penning a book of autobiographical essays.
