Biography

A multidisciplinary artist and performer, Salemah Gabriel is an American actress, music artist, writer and filmmaker. Beginning her early career as a dancer, she moved from her hometown of "Music City" Nashville, TN and as a teen was quickly immersed in LA’s music and television industries. She booked dance roles on Fox Television's "GLEE", Disney’s "Shake It Up" and Nickelodeon’s "Big Time Rush" as well as working with artists such as Snoop Dogg and daughter Cori B., Willow Smith and Fall Out Boy to name a few. At age seventeen she was invited by longtime mentor and creative director Brian Friedman to join pop artist Justin Bieber on his "Believe" World Tour. Over the span of her years working with Justin she has performed on numerous award shows, talk shows, world stages, and more. To his fans she is known as one of the original six #Bieberettes.

Before pursuing life as a touring dancer she made her acting debut in ABC’s, "Don't Trust the B in Apt 23" starring Krysten Ritter. She shared a scene with late actor James Van Der Beek and improvised comedic lines at the request of the director. That moment sparked a curiosity for her to learn more about film and television. After receiving her BFA in Film, she transitioned from dance to focus primarily on creative passions as a storyteller. She has since written an episode of television on Raven Symoné’s Disney Channel Spinoff, "Raven’s Home" as well as choreographed a dance battle scene between actors Sky Katz and Siena Agudong for the show. Starting a journey into theater she has assisted with the choreography and stage direction for an LA Regional Production of Dreamgirls and, moving forward, plans to be much more involved in the theatrical community. Other notable works include Verizon Wireless Print Campaign, Astral Media Brand Model (K-pop Company), and The Last Airbender Promo.

Outside of her creative work Salemah can be found in nature. Whether that’s tracking down a hidden trail, foraging for wild herbs, horse backing, or taking a quiet moment to ground to the earth. She is passionate about humanity's connection to the land and advocates for environmental conservation. Salemah resides/works between Los Angeles, California and Manhattan, New York.
