Gabriele Ciampi
- Composer
- Director
Gabriele Ciampi is an Italian-American composer, conductor, and filmmaker and the pioneer of Hybrid AI Cinema.
Classically trained at the Santa Cecilia Conservatory of Music in Rome, Ciampi writes every score by hand, at the piano, before a single frame of film exists. Then he directs, builds, and shapes the entire cinematic world around the music. The music always comes first.
His films have been screened and nominated at major festivals worldwide, from LA Shorts to experimental AI Film Festivals across Europe. His music is represented by Universal Music Publishing Group (UMPG) and has been performed at the White House and at the Vatican for Pope Francis. Every project is mastered at Abbey Road Studios.
In 2024, Ciampi introduced the concept of Hybrid AI Actors, characters built from real human beings, combining their face, movement, and emotional truth with artificial intelligence, fully directed by a human filmmaker. INTO THE WHITE, The Silence of Cold, was the first experiment.
Ciampi holds a degree in History of Film and Criticism and Directing from the University of Rome La Sapienza.
The machine is not the artist. But the artist is evolving with the machine.
