Ayerim Villanueva is a Dominican-Costa Rican filmmaker, producer, screenwriter, and sound producer. Born in the Dominican Republic, she studied Cinema and Photography in Costa Rica. Her multidisciplinary practice moves between cinema, photography, and sound, with an interest in the poetic possibilities of audiovisual language. Her short film Elena has received international recognition at festivals across Europe and Latin America.
