Gajendra Verma is an Indian singer, songwriter, and music composer known for his contributions to the independent pop music industry. He gained widespread recognition with his viral debut single, "Emptiness (Tune Mere Jaana)" (2010), which became one of India's first major independent digital hits. Since then, Verma has released several chart-topping singles, including "Phir Suna," "Mann Mera," "Ik Kahani," and the global hit "Tera Ghata." Born in Sirsa, Haryana, and raised in Jaipur, Rajasthan, Verma was introduced to music early by his father, Dr. Surender Verma, a poet and lyricist. His upbringing in a musically enriched environment influenced his passion for songwriting and composition. His mother, Chand Verma, played a significant role in refining his artistic sensibilities, while his brother, Vikram Singh, has been a longtime collaborator, producing and directing many of his projects. A self-taught musician, Verma began performing publicly at the age of four. One of his earliest performances was "Muqabla Muqabla." He later pursued sound engineering, which provided him with the technical expertise to produce and compose music independently. This blend of musical and technical knowledge allowed him to develop a distinct sound that blends poetic storytelling, deep emotions, and contemporary production. In 2018, Tera Ghata became a viral sensation, amassing over 500 million views on YouTube and gaining international recognition in India, the UK, the USA, Pakistan, Nepal, and the UAE. In 2021, Verma pioneered India's first-ever musical web series, Summary, where he combined visual storytelling with music. The innovative format was widely praised for its originality and immersive experience.
