- Varushka grew up all over the world the daughter of a foreign service officer. As a child she was fascinated by the arts and her artistic temperament was nurtured by her Italian painter mother who was a direct descendant of the Renaissance painter Piero Della Francesca.
After studying in Paris at L'Ecole Jacques Lecoq, and completing a degree in Comparative Literature at the American University in Paris, Ms. Franceschi went on to study in London where she also worked in Theater and TV, including work on an Agatha Christie BBC series.
As a young creative artist she became captivated by the work of producers, and began her career in production, working as an assistant to Enzo Peri of Challenge Film who specialized in European co-productions. She worked on productions which featured such artists as Krzysztof Zanussi, Julian Sands and Ben Gazzara.
After moving to New York, she continued her acting studies with Alan Langdon, the late Bobby Lewis (a mentor to Marlon Brando and Meryl Streep) and Elizabeth Kemp of the Actors' Studio who she maintained a close relationship with until Ms. Kemp's passing.
Varushka is a resident of Sweden where she founded a film and media communications company in 2022 with a mission to enable a profound shift in perception on topics including journalistic freedoms, women's issues, climate change, ethics, and integrity in social media. Ms. Franceschi has been working since 2021 as a producer on "The Katie Halper Show" on YouTube which takes a humorous look at the news of the day, integrity in journalism, politics and pop culture.
Varushka has been a producer, co-director, and writer of several award winning short films as well as leading a series of scene-work-shopping projects with a cast of actors from "The Actors Studio" in New York including Katherine Wallach and Nichole Ansari Cox.
She is a producer on Oscar nominated and Emmy winning actor James Cromwell's series "King Lear" starring James Cromwell and Oscar nominated, Tony winning, and three time Emmy award winner Laurence Fishburne.
