Derek Rafanello was raised in New Providence, New Jersey. In 2010, Derek began his film career and involved in many feature films, short films, music videos, and sports entertainment. Feature Film hits include, "The Bible Belt Slasher, The Holy Terror" (2013), "Kids Get Dead 2, The Kids Get Deader" (2014), "Vicious Thunder" (2016), "Theta States" (2017), and "Primary Hitman" (2018). In 2014, Derek filmed for Pro Wrestling Syndicate, an independent wrestling organization. By 2015, Pro Wrestling Syndicate's content was aired on television via CBS Television Group, a division of CBS Corporation, WLNY-NY 55. A notable cinematographer, Derek is a key asset on set when it comes to organization for all phases of film production.

Derek Rafanello received an All-State Athletic Award for Boy's Socccer, as a starting Sophomore Goal Keeper, at New Providence High School. The State Championship took place at Kean University in Union, New Jersey, in November of 1999. New Providence defeated Pitman 1-0.

Derek has appeared on screen as an extra in, "The Bible Belt Slasher, The Holy Terror" and "Vicious Thunder", as a film nod to Alfred Hitchcock.
