Biography

  • Dilyan Kalchev is a Bulgarian producer, actor, digital content creator and journalist, based in Sofia, Bulgaria. He developed an early passion for the performing arts, initially honing his craft at Petar Varbanov's theater studio. Kalchev pursued higher education in the United Kingdom, earning a Bachelor's degree in Media Productions from Coventry University in 2019, which included an academic exchange program in Spain.

His on-screen career began with an appearance as Viktor in the Bulgarian youth television series "Revolution Z" (2012). He later secured an episodic role in the American historical drama series "Will". Additionally, he gained early experience in voice-over work as the official voice for a Fanta commercial campaign in Bulgaria in 2012. Parallel to his acting endeavors, Kalchev built a successful modeling career, signing with the prestigious Bulgarian agency Ivet Fashion in 2014 before expanding internationally to work with Inega Model Management in Mumbai, India.

Transitioning into media and broadcasting, Kalchev joined Nova TV in July 2019 as a reporter for the national morning show "Hello, Bulgaria," where he covered a wide range of social and cultural topics. He has also established a strong presence in digital media, participating in the web reality format "Zona X" and co-founding "Kidi Tech," a specialized YouTube channel focused on PC building and gaming culture. Since late 2025, he has further expanded his online presence through live streaming.

In 2023, Kalchev co-founded the video production company db Productions alongside Daniel Nenov, shifting his professional focus toward documentary filmmaking and socially engaged audio-visual projects. As a producer, his notable works include the documentary "Purity or Death," which explores addiction recovery, and "We Can," an inspiring short-film series featuring Bulgarian Paralympic champions such as Ruzhdi Ruzhdi and Stela Eneva.
