- Johannes Strate was born on March 17 1980 in Bremen, Bremen, Germany. He has been grown up in Worpswede, Lower Saxony, Germany, near Bremen. As he was a Teenager he founded his first Band ''Second Floor'' (later renamed ''Privat'') with that he had his first Album Contract. In Winter 2002 he founded with Kristoffer Hünecke, Niels Kristian Hansen, Jakob Sinn and Florian Speer the Band ''Manga'', later renamed ''Revolverheld''.
He wrote a Bachelor-Thesis called: "Die Eigenwahrnehmung von Popmusikern im Gegensatz zur medialen Wahrnehmung".
He now lives in Hamburg, Hamburg, Germany, together with his long-time girlfriend Anna Angelina Wolfers and their son Emil.
