Biography

Born in St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada, Nicole Power grew up in Middle Cove. After spending a year completing general studies at the Memorial University of Newfoundland, she relocated to Ontario. There, she focused heavily on her performing arts training, graduating from Sheridan College's Musical Theatre program and the Second City conservatory. She also advanced her craft by becoming a member of the Soulpepper Theatre Academy.

She built an extensive background in Canadian stage productions, performing in shows such as West Side Story, Bonnie and Clyde, Legally Blonde, La Cage aux Folles, Dog Sees God: Confessions of a Teenage Blockhead, Evangeline, and The Charlottetown Festival production of Anne of Green Gables: The Musical. Her early television credits included appearing in Splatalot! (2013).

Her major career breakthrough came when she was cast as Shannon Ross, the car rental manager and love interest of Jung, in the hit CBC sitcom Kim's Convenience (2016). Her performance earned widespread acclaim, including two Canadian Screen Award nominations for Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series. Following the conclusion of Kim's Convenience, she reprised her role as Shannon Ross as the series lead and co-creator/consulting producer of the spinoff series Strays (2021), which followed her character relocating to Hamilton, Ontario. Her other credits include Private Eyes (2020), the television films Let's Get Married (2021) and Designing Christmas (2022), the recurring role of Officer Puddester in Something Undone (2022), starring as Mykynnleigh in the Netflix series Glamorous (2023), and an appearance in Run the Burbs (2024).
