Donald Hollowell is an award-winning actor, filmmaker, and entrepreneur dedicated to powerful, authentic storytelling. He gained early recognition for his role in the theatre production Asbury Park Riots, bringing historical events to life with depth and intensity on stage. Expanding into film, Donald created Shade Tree Mechanics, an independent project that secured distribution on Tubi and earned him Best Supporting Actor honors, marking a significant milestone in his filmmaking journey.
His latest gritty film, Milwaukee, continues to define his voice as a storyteller. The film won Best Short by a Black Filmmaker at the International Black & Diversity Film Festival, while Donald also received Best Actor at the Toronto International Nollywood Film Festival for his performance. The project reflects his commitment to raw, grounded narratives that resonate with real-world experiences.
In addition to his work as a creator, Donald has appeared in multiple independent productions and gained valuable on-set experience as a background actor on major projects, including Scarpetta (as a state trooper), 9-1-1 (Nashville), and Creed II. These opportunities have allowed him to study high-level productions while continuing to develop his craft.
