Biography

Ke-Xi Wu is an award-winning Taiwanese actress, screenwriter, and producer.

She received a Best Actress nomination at the Chinese Film Media Awards for Ice Poison, which premiered at the Berlin International Film Festival and was selected as Taiwan’s submission for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film. She later earned a Golden Horse Award nomination for The Road to Mandalay, which premiered at the Venice International Film Festival and won the Federation of Film Critics of Europe and the Mediterranean (FEDEORA) Award.

In 2019, Wu wrote the original draft and co-wrote the screenplay for Nina Wu, a #MeToo-inspired psychological thriller that premiered in the Un Certain Regard section of the Cannes Film Festival. The screenplay received multiple awards and nominations, including a Golden Horse Award nomination for Best Original Screenplay. In 2020, she was featured in Variety’s International Women’s Impact Report, recognizing influential women shaping the global entertainment industry.

She starred in Black Tea, directed by Academy Award-nominated filmmaker Abderrahmane Sissako, which premiered in Competition at the 2024 Berlin International Film Festival.

She made her U.S. feature film debut as the lead actress in Blue Sun Palace, which premiered at the 2024 Cannes Critics’ Week and won the French Touch Jury Prize. For her performance, Wu received the Best Actress Award at the 2025 Hong Kong International Film Festival.

Beyond acting, Wu has expanded her role as a screenwriter and producer on internationally recognized independent films. She serves as executive producer and co-writer of Midi Z’s feature film The Exiles, her latest project, in which she stars alongside Sam Worthington and David Duchovny.
