  • Grant Armour is an award winning & Emmy nominated London-based Director / Producer specialising in feature documentaries for television, branded films, commercials and music videos.

    Grant has strong expertise in all key areas of video production - series producing, producing, directing, camera operating, editing, edit producing and music composition. Grant has experience across every stage of the storytelling process - from initial research, to pitching, to development, to casting characters and gaining access, constructing the narrative, creating the visual language, directing talent, producing the edit and even composing the final score.

    Throughout 12 years of making documentaries and creating new formats for television and online, Grant has produced, directed and shot internationally, making films about climate activism, drug use, mental health, boy racers, young offenders, criminals, professional gamers, ancient rituals, wild animals, space tourism, shot the Emmy-nominated series, Gaycation and the theatrically released feature doc, Chemsex.

    Documentaries Grant has produced include: the award winning, The Homeless Film Director and Ballet & Bullets: Dancing Out of the Favela, part funded by the Pulitzer Centre on Crisis Reporting; Acid Attacks on the rise of corrosive acid as a goto weapon for young criminals in the UK; My Big Witchy Wedding on an arranged marriage between relatives within a community of witches in Romania: Make The World Greta Again profiling climate activist and Time Person of the Year 2019, Greta Thunberg. The same year Grant produced, directed and edited a documentary with Brian Eno on the 50th anniversary of the moon landings for Universal through his own production company 1711 Films.

    In 2020, Grant has produced / directed documentaries on prison takeovers in Colombia, cartels making fentanyl-laced medication in Mexico, and six-part sustainable travel series, World Without Planes. In 2021, Grant produced, directed and shot a programme on Scotland's cocaine epidemic and the shift from historical heroin use to injecting powdered cocaine which will be airing on Channel 4 this year. Grant also produced a US based series on relatives reuniting against all odds for Snap Originals and produced / directed / shot for the reboot of Gamesmaster for Future Studios and Channel 4.

    In 2022, Grant produced / directed two feature biopics with ITN Productions for Channel 5 / Paramount + on the rise and fall of British TV hosts Noel Edmonds and Hughie Green, which was released in 2023. In 2023, Grant directed a feature celeb biopic / true crime documentary featuring cinematic drama reconstructions on the rise & fall of Michael Barrymore. The same year, Grant also filmed, produced, directed & scored a feature-length true crime documentary for Channel 5 / Paramount + on the largest armed manhunt in British policing history to capture Barry Prudom - Manhunt: The Phantom Cop Killer.
