- Kyoko Takenaka (Jinjabrew) is a bilingual actor, butoh dancer, musician, filmmaker and performance artist based in Los Angeles. They are the guitarist and vocalist of the queer Afro-Asia band, WASTEWOMXN. Their self-directed debut short film, HOME, reached viral fame in 2021 and was shared over 335,000 times, resonating with many on the experience of growing up Asian American. It premiered at the Academy Award / BAFTA Qualifying LA Shorts International Film Festival and has been shared by the LA Times, the Philly Asian American Film Festival, the Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival and the Japan Film Festival.
