Corey Champagne is an actor and singer-songwriter from Atlanta, Georgia. He gained recognition for his portrayal of Kadeuce Porter in the Emmy Award-winning Netflix limited series Seven Seconds alongside Regina King and Russell Hornsby. His performance earned him a Black Reel Award for Television nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Limited Series or Television Movie.
His film and television credits include Netflix’s A Jazzman’s Blues, Magnum P.I., The CW’s The Originals, Showtime at the Apollo, and a variety of theatrical productions.
Champagne began studying acting at Atlanta’s Alliance Theatre at the age of six, where he was later selected as a Junior Player and earned a lead role in one of the theatre’s productions. He continued developing his artistic talents at North Springs High School’s Performing Arts Magnet Program, studying drama, musical theatre, chorus, photography, and broadcasting. During this time, he was selected as one of a small group of student composers chosen to write and perform in a music video project for the John Lennon Educational Tour Bus.
His passion for performance extended beyond the classroom and stage. As both an actor and musician, he sought opportunities to share his work with audiences, including an appearance at Harlem’s Apollo Theater during its renowned Amateur Night, where he was well received by its famously discerning audience.
Champagne attended Florida A&M University, where he worked with the school’s emerging Music and Entertainment Industry Studies program before transferring to Georgia State University to study film.
He continues to work across film, television, theatre, and music.
