- Kriti Sanon is a National Award-winning Indian actress who works primarily in Hindi cinema. Born in New Delhi to Rahul Sanon, a chartered accountant, and Geeta Sanon, a professor, she earned a degree in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering from the Jaypee Institute of Information Technology before pursuing a career in modelling and acting.
She made her acting debut in 2014 with the Telugu psychological thriller 1: Nenokkadine, opposite Mahesh Babu, and the same year entered Bollywood with Sabbir Khan's Heropanti. The latter earned her the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut and marked her arrival in the industry.
Over the years, Kriti has built a versatile career with acclaimed performances and major commercial successes. Her notable films include Rohit Shetty's Dilwale (2015), the sleeper hit Bareilly Ki Barfi (2017), Luka Chuppi (2019), and the ensemble comedy Housefull 4 (2019). Her breakthrough came with Mimi (2021), where her portrayal of a young woman navigating surrogacy earned her widespread acclaim and the National Film Award for Best Actress.
She has since headlined successful films such as Bhediya (2022), the sci-fi romance Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya (2024), the female-led heist comedy Crew (2024), Expanding her career beyond acting, Kriti turned producer with the Netflix thriller Do Patti (2024), under her banner Blue Butterfly Films, which she also starred in.
Beyond cinema, Kriti is a successful entrepreneur. She co-founded the skincare brand Hyphen and is also the one of the founders of The Tribe, a popular fitness studio chain in Mumbai. In 2025, she was appointed as United Nations Population Fund's India's Honorary Ambassador for Gender Equality, using her platform to advocate for women's rights, youth empowerment, and gender equality.
Before her big-screen debut, Kriti featured in several popular television commercials. She has also made memorable special appearances in songs such as Aao Kabhi Haveli Pe (Stree, 2018) and Aira Gaira (Kalank, 2019).
