George Tampakakis is a filmmaker with hands-on experience in principal photography (camera work and lighting) as
well as post production roles (workflow design & supervision, digital deliverables for broadcast and cinema) in more than 50 large
and small scale projects including but not limited to feature films, TV series, short films and stage performances.
Having studied film (directing) alongside important Greek cinema auteurs and established professionals (Pantelis Voulgaris,
Nikos Grammatikos, Eva Stefani, Yorgos Mavropsaridis and more) has granted him with in-depth knowledge and love
for the art form of audiovisual storytelling.
As a freelancer he has been involved in projects that have been streamed online (Netflix & Amazon Prime), TV broadcasted, theatrically distributed and screened at many international film festivals such as Palm Springs (US), Cinequest (US), Shanghai IFF, Exground (Berlin), Sarajevo IFF, Magma (Sicily), Rome IFF, Montecatini ISFF, Divan Film Festival (RO), Noida IFF, Athens IFF, Drama IFF, Thessaloniki IFF et al.
He has received three cinematography awards for the short films "Last Visit" (Thessaloniki International Short Film Festival 2021), "Pledge" (4th Balkan Film Festival altcineAction! 2016) and "A Man In Love" (5th Peloponnese Bridges 2014 Festival).
