Kent's big personality, large frame, and expressive vocal talents have made him a popular character actor on the stages of Chicago. Roles include Frollo in The Hunchback of Notre Dame (Music Theatre Works), Scrooge in A Christmas Carol (Quest Theatre), Fagin in Oliver and Horton in Seussical (Footlighters Theater), Chief Bromden In One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest (Gift Theater), Bottom in A Midsummer Night's Dream (Generic Theatre), Thomas More in The Third Richard (The Trance) and Boris Kolenkhov In You Can't Take It With You (Oak Park Festival Theater). Kent can be seen in the Shakespeare-inspired web-series Like What You Like available on YouTube, heard in the 4th season of the audio drama podcast Immunities available on iTunes or Spotify, and a featured role in the film The Girls of Summer available on Amazon. Favorite role is husband to his supportive and incredibly patient wife Leanne.

Kent has been nominated for back to back Broadway World regional awards (2018, 2019).
