Jakob Schweighofer (b. 1988, Austria) is an accomplished Director of Photography, film producer, and certified mountain guide. Jakob's journey into filmmaking began through climbing, where his passion for adventure led him to the north faces of the Alps, America's big walls, and the Karakoram. His work on extreme alpine film sets, combining creative vision with technical rope and climbing skills, naturally transitioned into a career behind the lens.
In 2015, Jakob co-founded Whiteroom Productions, earning international acclaim for its distinctive style and award-winning films. After relocating to Bavaria, he established Filmfarm with his wife, Stefanie. The production house thrives on telling stories rooted in agriculture, mountain culture, and the natural world.
Jakob's expertise lies in crafting compelling documentaries and commercials, merging physical endurance, artistic precision, and a deep respect for nature to capture stunning visuals in the most challenging environments.
