Laura Lewis-Barr

Laura is an award-winning stop-motion filmmaker and educator. She works in her basement in Chicago with a tiny budget, mostly used to dress her very patient doll actors. Laura's focus is on animating fairy tales and mythic stories that feed the soul. She is inspired by the work of Joseph Campbell, Carl Jung, Jack Zipes, and Michael Meade. Laura's passion is creating short films for personal and collective transformation. Her website is lauralewisbarrfilms.com. Laura has a Masters in Drama and has been writing, directing, and producing theatre and film for over 15 years. In 2018 she began teaching herself stop motion animation. Laura has made over 15 shorts (and counting) which have been official selections in film festivals around the world.
