J.T. Peterson
- Composer
J.T. Peterson is an American composer who creates music for media, commercials and film trailers. His interest in music developed early and in his twenties he formed the band Tear with a close friend he had met in school, a creative partnership that deeply influenced his artistic direction. After his friend's death from cancer at the age of twenty-six, Peterson struggled to find a clear path and briefly attempted to pursue pop music before stepping away to complete a degree in finance and work as a financial analyst. During this period he realized that leaving music behind felt deeply unfulfilling, a turning point that eventually led him back to composing. Encouraged by a video by philosopher Alan Watts that emphasized pursuing one's true passions, Peterson decided to dedicate himself fully to music. Since then he has built a career composing professionally for visual media, producing music used in trailers, advertisements and other projects, while continuing to develop his sound and collaborate with artists and producers in the media music field.
