Born in Iran and raised in Vienna, Austria, Alain Ali Washnevsky is an internationally working actor. After a successful career in real estate, he moved to Los Angeles in 2011 to pursue his lifelong passion for storytelling and performance.

In 2014, Alain became a finalist in the World Championship of Public Speaking. The following year, he appeared in the Oscar-nominated short film Day One. Between 2015 and 2019, he worked extensively in American television, with credits including Homeland, Scandal, The Rookie, Lucifer, NCIS, Westworld, 13 Reasons Why, Curb Your Enthusiasm, and Roseanne.

In recent years, his career has expanded internationally. He starred as a series regular in Netflix's Alexander: The Making of a God and appeared in the Emmy Award-winning Apple TV series Tehran, opposite Hugh Laurie. He also appeared in The Accountant 2, starring Ben Affleck, and held major recurring roles in The Morning Show alongside Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon, The Terminal List: Dark Wolf with Chris Pratt and Taylor Kitsch, and The Agency, starring Michael Fassbender.

A lifelong lover of music and performance, Alain also performed as an opera singer, appearing in productions of Don Giovanni, Cendrillon, and The Gondoliers.

He is fluent in German, English, and Farsi, conversational in French, and lives and works between Europe and the United States.
