Biography

Gentian Koçi has written, directed, and produced acclaimed films such as Not a Carwash (documentary, 2012), Daybreak (2017), and A Cup of Coffee and New Shoes On (2022), which have been screened at major international festivals and have received numerous awards, along with critical acclaim from Variety, Screen Daily, Sight & Sound, The Hollywood Reporter, and others. Daybreak and A Cup of Coffee and New Shoes On were Albania’s official Oscar submissions in 2018 and 2023, respectively. Named a "director to watch" by Screen Daily in 2018, his work has been featured in various case study workshops. Koçi has served as a jury member at numerous international film festivals, and in 2023, he participated in Cannes’ Producers on the Move-EFP. Actually, he is working on his next project, Cold Sun.
