Biography

Saman Hosseinpuor was born in Kurdistan, Iran. He is a Kurdish Iranian writer and director who has made more than ten short films, and his work has been recognized at over a hundred film festivals, including; International Film Festival Rotterdam, Zlín International Film Festival, Busan International Film Festival, Telluride Film Festival, and Red Sea International Film Festival. He is an alumnus of the Asian Film Academy and Berlinale Talents. Hosseinpuor holds both a bachelor's and a master's degree in cinema and is a fellow of the Busan Asian Film School (AFiS) program. His films focus on Kurdish culture, particularly the experiences of Kurdish people in Iran. Additionally, Saman Hosseinpuor is an official member of the Iranian Short Film Association and a Naff Fantastic Film School alumnus. He is working on his debut feature film.
