Biography

Joshua Viola is a writer, creative director, and producer based in Denver, Colorado. He is the creative director and writer of the upcoming video game Legacy of Kain: Ascendance, the first new entry in the iconic franchise in over two decades, and a producer on the official video game adaptation of The Rocky Horror Show. Viola has produced films including Shrine of Abominations, Deathgasm 2: Goremageddon, and Steven Kostanski’s Deathstalker reboot starring Daniel Bernhardt and Patton Oswalt, co-produced by Guns N’ Roses’ Slash.

He has worked with major franchise licenses including The Terminator, Evil Dead 2, Pirates of the Caribbean, The Dark Crystal, Labyrinth, and The Smurfs, and was involved in the Blu-ray release of Nickelback’s documentary Hate to Love: Nickelback. In 2023, his company Bit Bot partnered with Canadian genre film studio Raven Banner Entertainment on a slate of upcoming productions.

Viola also co-wrote the comic series True Believers with Stephen Graham Jones, featuring official cameos from Jamie Lee Curtis, Barbara Crampton, Jeffrey Combs, R.L. Stine, Matt Heafy of Trivium, GWAR, and others. He is the co-owner of Bit Bot, a multimedia entertainment company, alongside acclaimed musician and producer Klayton (Celldweller, Scandroid).
