- Mary O'Connor was born and raised in Massachusetts before moving to California at 18. Her acting debut was in "The Bet", a film directed by Finola Hughes, that premiered at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival in 2012. After becoming disabled in 2014, Mary continued to pursue acting & writing. She has studied acting, screenwriting and producing with Lindsay Wagner, James Franco and Scott Caan, among others. "Blister" (2023) is O'Connors directorial debut. The goal of true disabled representation in Hollywood fuels all Mary's work. O'Connor works, lives and travels between New England, California and Hawaii.

- Mary had a stroke in 2014 while surfing in Los Angeles, CA that left her paralyzed below the waist. Years of physical therapy helped her regain the ability to walk with assistive devices, most notably a cane.
